Into the Heart of Datta Intensives

The Wordless Truth in Words

Into the Heart of Datta is an ongoing series of transformational online intensives. The intensives are usually composed of a satsang discourse and Q&A, silent meditation, and sometimes special guided meditations. The talks cover a wide range of topics that all eventually converge towards the absolute truth and its expression in a natural, free and unconditionally loving existence.
Within these talks, there is no strict demarcation between spiritual and non-spiritual topics. Ultimately, because everything is the expression of consciousness, everything is spiritual. Therefore, it is a fact that all elements within our lives, whether apparently profound or apparently mundane, can be spiritualised and perfected through injecting more and more awareness and love into those aspects.
These sessions are not limited to simply parroting the same hackneyed non-dual slogans like ‘We are all one’ or ‘Everything is nothing’ or ‘There is no self’. The way that the absolute truth emerges in response to the multifaceted needs of others is a lot more complicated than simply repeating a load of meaningless phrases that mean nothing to most people. The truth is flexible and the words of sages operate more like subtle keys, or even daggers, that help us to unlock areas within ourselves or even open buried wounds that are holding us back.
Ultimately, there are no dogmatic frameworks for these talks whatsoever. Does nature have a framework or a model? Does nature look at a set of blueprints as it creates? No, it just dances. The creator is not separate from the creation or the process of creation. These talks are also a creative, collaborative and playful exercise in living, expressing and sharing.

The Essence of Satsang

Satsang means to be in the company of ‘sat’, which means existence itself or the absolute truth. Eventually, we become that which we keep company with. So, as much as possible, we should strive to transform our entire life into satsang.

When we discover the essence of our being, then the practice of satsang becomes simply being aware of that essence and living through it. Until then, it is helpful to keep the company of people who are fully established in their essence. This ‘keeping company’ doesn’t necessarily have to be through in-person talks but could also include reading or listening to the words that flow forth from a space where the truth is realised and lived.

Even if we have come to a stage in our practice when we just want to sit in silence, the energy radiated during satsang can be beneficial to simply sit and steeps ourselves in. When the song of truth begins, many different kinds of subtler, invisible-to-the-naked-eye beings also come to listen and swim in the nectar of those words.

If we want to become the truth, then we should keep the company of that truth until we merge into it. This is the essence of satsang.

Participation

These intensives take place on Zoom, usually on the last Saturday of every month. The sessions last at least two hours with an hour allocated for silent meditation/transmission and another hour or more for satsang, questions and discussion.
Participation is via donation, with tickets offered on a sliding scale. Participants will also receive access to a recording of the session that is made available for a month until the next intensive.
